Other ways you can get involved

There are many other ways to reduce the amount of waste, and plastic created and disposed of in Gloucestershire:

Refill Mobile App

If you are looking for more ways to reduce your plastic usage why not join Refill, a free mobile app that pinpoints water refill locations, making it even easier to avoid single use plastic bottles.

Refill is a national campaign which aims to support people wanting to use reusable water bottles by signposting them to a network of refill stations.  The app pinpoints refill stations - such as cafés, coffee shops, museums and more - all of which have signed up to the app. This means that staff are more than happy to give water away and so avoids the sometimes awkward conversation around asking for your water bottle to be filled up!

Visit Refill.org.uk for more information on how the app works and for your nearest refill point.

Litter Picking in your Local Community

If you want to take the next step and help tidy up your community why not undertake a littler pick?  Your local authority may be able to support you with this.

If you are interested in supporting your local district or borough in the form of a litter pick, contact your local authority using the contact details below. They may be able to provide you with equipment, safety guidance and a way to dispose of the waste that you have collected.  If you are interested they may also be able to put you in touch with volunteer litter picking groups in your area.
