Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for dealing with the household residual waste collected by the district councils in Gloucestershire and at household recycling centres.
Gloucestershire County Council signed a contract with Urbaser Balfour Beatty (UBB) to design, build and operate a waste treatment facility for the county to use over the next 25 years. The facility has been built and is processing the County’s household residual waste since October 2019. At the end of the 25 years the facility will be owned by the county council.
