Forest of Dean District


Where it is taken?

Cartons (such as Tetra Pak) can be recycled at five recycling sites in Forest of Dean district. The banks are provided and serviced by the Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE UK).  

The material is taken to a mill in Halifax to be recycled.

What happens to it?

The components are separated into fibres, plastics and aluminium before being recycled or sent for further processing.

The fibre is recycled at the on-site paper mill to make coreboard, which is used for tubes for a variety of industrial applications.

The polymer and aluminium layers are sent to a facility in Europe, where they are separated and recycled.
