Where is it taken?

Metals collected at the kerbside are split into ferrous metals, aluminium and steel before being sent to various locations in the UK for recycling. 

See below where the different metals are currently sent:

Ferrous metals

• EMR Metal Recycling, The Old Airfield, Moreton Valence, Gloucester.

Aluminium

• Promet UK, Unit 34-39, Kingfisher Way, Sheffield S25 3AF

Steel

• AMG Resources, Nevills Dock, Llanelli SA15 2HD for onward forwarding to Tata Steel UK Limited, Port Talbot Works SA13 2NG

What happens to it?

All of the metals are recycled into new products.
