Where are they taken?

Plastics collected at the kerbside are sorted and separated before being sent to either Green Globe Resources Limited, Derry, Northern Ireland or Pro Environmental in Rochester.

What happens to them?

Plastics are sorted into different grades before being washed, shredded and turned into pellets or flakes ready to be used in new plastic products.
