Where is it taken?

Landor Street materials recovery facility & Various UK recycling plants.

What happens to it?

The glass is collected from the kerbside mixed with cans and plastics. It is taken to a materials recovery facility (MRF) in Birmingham where it is sorted into individual waste streams.  The glass in then transported for recycling. Find out more about Materials Recovery Facilities here.  

Glass is taken to a number of locations in the UK for recycling where it is processed into new glass products. See list of destinations below:
