Fewer clothes

The easiest way to reduce your clothing footprint is to buy less. The average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago; a huge growth in purchases that in turn creates more and more textile waste.

Make a start in reducing what you buy by taking stock of the clothing you already have. Look at what you own and consider your existing wardrobe before you buy more. Try not to replicate similar items.

Consider creating a capsule wardrobe. This is a smaller wardrobe that has lots of items that go together and so can be paired up to create different outfits. Find out how to create a capsule wardrobe.
