Sustainable and DIY decoration ideas
It wouldn't be a coronation party with out lots of red white and blue decorations. Here are a few ideas on how you can make yours a Greener Coronation party without compromising on style!
- Making your own bunting / borrowing traditional bunting from a friend. Someone who has recently married is usually a great place to start asking!
- Making your own cake stand out of upcycled cardboard rather than buying new or in single use plastic
- Buying reusable paper decorations such as honeycomb balls and crepe paper streamers
- Buying or making some pom-pom garlands out of any scrap yarns you have at home
- Reusing your bed sheets to make white table cloths - just make sure they're not fitted!
- Search the charity shops for blue, red and white items that you can use to adorn your party tables
- Avoid items such as balloons which are non-recyclable and may blow away causing harm to wildlife and litter and try making things like tissue paper pom-poms that can be reused or paper chain garlands.
