From 1st of April 2023 vehicle tyres will no longer be accepted for disposal at Gloucestershire Household Recycling Centres. Please make arrangements for suitable disposal with an authorised tyre fitter, or tyre disposal company.
Bicycle tyres continue to be accepted.

British Heart Foundation furniture and electrical stores take donations of any good quality, unwanted furniture and electrical items.

Emmaus have a secondhand superstore in Gloucester, and shops in Nailsworth, Cheltenham and Stroud and collect donated furniture and white goods from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud valley and surrounding areas.

Forest Furniture Bank (Browns Traders) helps those in need by giving away the furniture (and various other household items) people donate to them to those who have none. They aim to better preserve and protect the environment (for the public benefit and future generations) by promoting waste reduction and recycling. Forest Upcycling Project trains and works with unemployed people in the Forest of Dean and can collect unwanted furniture and electrical items free of charge. The items are then made available to disadvantaged groups.

Gloucestershire Bike Project is a not for profit social enterprise. They have a continually changing stock of adults and children's bikes, which once refurbished, are offered for sale at their Barton Street workshop.

Reclaim, based in Cheltenham, is Vision 21's furniture re-use project, which redistributes good quality second hand furniture, household items, bikes and paint at a reasonable price to the public. It also offers voluntary placements and support for up to 15 vulnerable adults. Free collections are offered locally.

Stroud District Furniture Bank helps residents recycle their unwanted furniture, appliances and bric-a-brac by providing a free removal service. Items are then offered to families and individuals in need at affordable prices.

Our Household Recycling Centres also accept items for reuse, as well as recycling. This includes bikes which are sent for reuse as parts.
We currently have reuse shops at two of our HRC’s, Fosse Cross Household Recycling Centre and Oak Quarry Household Recycling Centre where our customers can leave items. Sales from suitable items help maintain the recycling services the County Council provides.
