What happens to it?
Household batteries collected at the recycling centers are sent to AA Batteries Ltd in Nuneaton where the different materials in the batteries are extracted and recycled.
Car Batteries collected at the recycling centers are transported to Smiths Ltd in Gloucester before being sent to a specialist UK based re-processor based in Matlock where the metals are extracted and sent for use in new metal products and the plastic is separated out to be used in new plastic products.
