What happens to it?

The cardboard collected at the HRCs is baled at Smiths Ltd. The bales are sold through brokerages to processors outside of the UK.

Loose card is refined and baled by an intermediary, who sells card to domestic and international markets. Outlets include Allwood Recycling Solutions and Printwaste.
